Oman LNG invites qualified applicants to apply for the below positions:


Position TitleSenior Investments Manager


Manage the Investment activities, specifically scoping investment opportunities, assessing, recommending, implementing, monitoring, planning and managing Oman LNG and Qalhat LNG investment portfolios as approved by the Investment Committee, and ensuring that long term target returns on investment are sought, risks are mitigated and required reports and information analysis are prepared.

3. ROLES, Responsibilities and challenges


  1. Develop, review, amend investment strategy and recommend to the Investment Committee for approval.
  2. Lead the team and fund managers to implement the investment strategy approved by the Investment Committee to maintain a stable and optimal return on the investment portfolios as compared to relevant benchmarks.
  3. Identify potential investment opportunities in the local or international markets to be screened against organizational investment criteria.
  4. Negotiate and prepare shareholder agreement terms and conditions for Board of Directors (BoD) approval prior to participation in new investments.
  5. Oversee creation of economic models in line with the Company's relevant policies and guidelines for the evaluation of potential projects that could be considered for investments.
  6. Carry out the economic analysis of all new potential projects for investments and present the outcome of such review.
  7. Carry out the assessment and due diligence exercise and to set up the Code of Practice necessary for discussing and evaluating projects that is required for the company to arrive at Final Investment Decisions (FID).
  8. Manage the risks associated with investments and monitor spending rate versus returns. Protect and enhance value of direct investments by representing OLNG/QLNG on the board of companies where OLNG/QLNG has significant stake/shareholding.
  9. Determine the rates of return on investments to ensure that investment objectives are achieved and to recommend changes as required.
  10. Assist Chief Financial Officer in developing annual budgets for and creating long term sustainable plans for the investment funds.
  11. Research the economic, financial, political and other factors affecting markets and make appropriate recommendations to maximize the investment returns.
  12. Oversee the analysis and monitoring of market trends and make recommendations in relation to the investment policy.
  13. Negotiate deals with financial institutions on behalf of OLNG/QLNG to secure the best possible terms.
  14. Prepare investment performance reports and overall markets reports that include data analysis and future forecasts.
  15. Be responsible for the development and engagement of the team by utilizing organization's performance management process.
  16. Guide subordinates in executing their respective responsibilities towards the achievement of the department's goals and objectives as well as those of Oman LNG.


  1. Developing processes and procedures for establishing and improving Investments capabilities of the organization.
  2. Continuous efforts for gathering relevant market information, locating opportunities and networking.
  3. Identifying and mitigating investment risks.
  4. Influencing stakeholders for obtaining their approval on the proposed investments.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, and working conditions


  1. Bachelor of Finance, Master's Degree in Finance with a focus on Investment; CFA qualified (or equivalent).
  2. 10 years' experience in finance with an emphasis on investment services.
  3. Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in investment.

Working Conditions:

  1. Office based role with base location as Muscat
  2. 5/2 work pattern.
