Position Title​Cost Analyst

role Purpose

Responsible for timely delivery of Operational Expenditure and budget related reports for various teams and ensuring the value of work done is complete, accurate and complies with IAS & IFRS & company procedures. In addition the role should also assist the supervisor in preparing studies, analysis, presentations, benchmarking etc.


  1. Coordinate with various departments to consolidate and report on the operational and capital budget of the Company in a timely manner, for annual as well as long term forecasts.
  2. Provide specialist finance services, advice and guidance on financial matters including budgeting, cost monitoring performance reviews, variances, cost trend and forecast analysis to the directly assigned departments.
  3. Provide timely and quality management information report to monitor and control expenditures and commitments against approved budget values and ensure compliance with company's policies and procedures.
  4. Prepare presentations and pre readings based yearly/quarterly to accounting reports for the Board of Directors of OLNG and to meetings of the Shareholders
  5. Regularly monitor actual performance of the company against budgeted parameters for both CAPEX and OPEX and prepare reports for department heads and management team
  6. Ensure proper and timely recording of expenditure and check accuracy of Actual expenditures being posted to ledger, accrual and VOWD under CAPEX and OPEX
  7. Prepare the Company's cost management reports for all expenditure and ensure that both internal and external stakeholders are supplied with timely and accurate information
  8. Analyze cost reports, arrange meeting with budget holders for budget performance review and provide variance explanations on any deviation from the approved budget to departmental heads and management team members.
  9. Validate performance benchmarking studies and facilitate decision making

   10. Assist in the review and design Finance business Processes and procedures and in light of the best practices


  1. Understand and adopt the management philosophy while for leading and implementation of various project in the Company
  2. Influencing the Budget Holders with different backgrounds such that to work in tandem whilst executing the annual Operational and Capital Expenditure budgeting.

   3. Identify areas of cost optimization without compromising on the QHSE standards, staff development and plant integrity.

 Qualifications AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Degree in Accounting with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  2. Preferable professional qualifications in  accounts: ACCA/CPA/CIMA/CMA
